EXPLORER is a 42 foot Grand Banks Trawler, originally designed for comfortable long-term and long-distance cruising. She features three cabins below, and spacious decks above. Her main salon incorporates a full galley with refrigerators and freezers, stove, large table, and all of the essentials for long term life aboard. Down below forward is a guest cabin with berths and a private head with shower.
Aft and below is the Master Cabin, with queen-berth, pilot berth, and a second head and shower. Topside is a large canvas-covered flying bridge with seating for a dozen, grill, and table. She is heated, air-conditioned, and well found for her work.

EXPLORER is well fitted for open ocean safety. In addition to the US Coast Guard required life jackets and signaling equipment, she carries an inflatable raft, comprehensive survival kit, and satellite-location Emergency Positioning Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB). She carries comprehensive first aid equipment, and has an agreement with an on-call Physician to provide real-time medical advice at sea, should the need arise. For all open-ocean diving, she tows a diver chase-boat to assist in the rescue of a distressed diver.
EXPLORER carries the latest in electronics and communications equipment, allowing her to confidently navigate and communicate anyplace/anytime.

She is fitted with: Dual GPS stations, duplicated in cabin and flying bridge, LORAN Navigation System, Dual Furuno RADAR systems, Dual VHF communications radios, High Frequency SSB Radio, capable of global voice and data communications, Iridium Satellite Telephone, Forward and Side-Looking SONAR system and At-Dock wireless internet system. A 120 volt AC Charging-Station is provided for recharging dive lights, computers, etc
