		<description>Erik, my daughter named her. I had already had the name in my head for a while, but had never mentioned it to her. Over dinner I asked her (age ten at the time) what the boat should be named. She never hesitated before saying &quot;Explorer&quot;. That fits a pattern as well: My first sailboat was named Explorer, I am a Member of The Explorers Club, it follows the same sort of names as Seeker and Discovery and a few other famous vessels, and lastly follows an old superstition that a Lucky Ship has a name with eight letters. So, EXPLORER she is! Dave</description>
